Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and adhere to the following requirements:

  • Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm (length + width + height)*
  • Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage: 5 kg/11 lb

Check Baggage Allowance for Domestic (Brazil) Flights:

Each passenger may check luggage weighing a maximum of 23 kg/51 lb. An excess fee will be charged whenever the baggage allowance is exceeded according to the flight class. In case of excess, it will be charged 0,5% over Y fare for the traveled segment, for each exceeding kilgram.

Children under 2 years of age can bring 1 baby stroller or 1 bunting bag or 1 infant car seat and 1 piece of luggage, complying with the dimensions for the accepted carry-on sizes and up to 5 kg.

Checked Baggage Allowance for International Flights:

Flights to Europe, North America, South Africa, and Asia*

  • Baggage allowance: 2 pieces
  • Maximum Weight of each piece: 32 kg /71 lb each
  • Maximum Dimensions: 158 cm / 62 in (length + width + height)

*from/to Canada, United States, American Territories or between Brazil and Asia via Pacific Ocean; South Africa; Hong Kong and Bangkok via South Africa or in direct flights, Europe, including France and London.

Note: Due to American regulation, passengers boarding flight JJ8092, Guarulhos – Miami via Salvador, shall disembark from the aircraft in Salvador, carrying their hand luggage. After checking the documents, they shall embark again and be submitted to the security procedures requested by the USA government. Passenger traveling only over the domestic leg, that is, with final destination in Salvador, shall disembark normally.

Flights departing from Europe

  • Baggage allowance: 2 pieces
  • Maximum Weight of each piece: 23 kg /51 lb each
  • Maximum Dimensions: 158 cm / 62 in (length + width + height)

Sporting Equipment:

  • Bicycles are normally accepted as checked baggage with flat tires, removed pedals and aligned handlebar. Only one bicycle will be accepted per passenger.
  • Musical Instruments can be accepted as cabin baggage provided that the volume meets the weight and dimensions of the hand baggage allowance. Otherwise, it will be placed on a seat, observing the following conditions:
    • Previous reservation of an extra seat on the same fare and service class without the right to an extra baggage allowance.
    • The maximum weight allowed is 75 kg /165 lb.
  • Golf equipment includes a bag with clubs and shoes. Excess baggage fee to be applied in case the equipment exceeds established allowance, will be 50% the value of the baggage excess fee applied on traveled route.
  • Ski equipment (snow or water) is defined as a pair of snow skis along with their accessories (a pair of ski boots, a pair of ski poles, or a ski board), or a pair of either conventional or Slalom water skis. The baggage excess fee to be applied in case the equipment is in excess to the established allowance, will be 33% the value of the baggage excess fee applicable to the route.
