The secondary small item that can be taken on board may be one of the following:
- Handbag/purse
- Coat
- Book
- Tablet or similar size device
- Umbrella
Weight allowances
Passengers may bring two pieces of cabin baggage with a total combined weight of 7kgs.
Any cabin baggage that does not meet the above requirements will need to be checked in accordingly and airport baggage charges will apply.
Baggage can only be checked in for a flight up to 2 (two) hours prior to scheduled departure.
Passengers are advised not to check-in items, which are fragile, of importance or high value including but not limited to cash, jewellery, medicines or other valuables.
Passengers are offered the choice to save if they choose to travel with hand luggage only. For those passengers who need to check-in baggage they have the option to select a Luggage Upsize™ option to suit their needs at the time of making their reservation upon payment of a corresponding fee per passenger per one way flight. This excludes, but is not limited to, items such as sporting equipment.

The fare purchased includes a single 20 kg bag per person traveling, excluding infants.
If additional checked baggage is needed customers have the option of calling the Tiger call centre up to 4 hours prior to departure. Passengers who do not exercise this option up to 4 hours prior to departure can still purchase additional bags at the airport on the day of departure but will be limited to purchase only the 15 kg baggage tier and will be charged the prevailing airport rate. Additional weight in excess of 15 kg will be subjected to the prevailing excess baggage charges.
Baggage paid for at time of booking or up to 4 hours before departure is not refundable in the event that the travel is cancelled by the customer or the customer does not carry the upsized luggage allowance of checked-in luggage.
Excess Baggage Charges
Any excess over the Luggage Upsize™ option selected; will be charged per kilo at the prevailing rates in the common currency of the departure airport.Excess luggage fees are charged at check-in and are subjected to currency fluctuations.Tigerair and Tigerair Philippines are unable to guarantee that excess luggage will be carried on flight. This is at Tigerair’ sole discretion and is subject to various factors.
For safety reasons Tigerair and Tigerair Philippines reserves the right to not accept any individual item exceeding 30 kilos.
Please note that excess weight will be determined at Tigerair’ discretion, based on the weight displayed at the check-in counter.
Any sporting equipment, including but not limited to skis, surfboards and bicycles will be accepted for travel on a space available basis and is charged at the prevailing rates per item, per flight. Such items are accepted for carriage by Tigerair entirely at the passenger’s own risk. The weight of the equipment must not exceed 30 kg.
Instruments to be carried as cabin baggage must not exceed the dimensions of 30 x 117 x 38 cm. Instruments within this category include but is not limited to bugle, clarinet, flute, piccolo, guitars in soft cases, trumpet, violin or viola and will form part of your free cabin baggage allowance. Such items are accepted for carriage by Tigerair entirely at the passenger’s own risk.
Any instrument exceeding the above dimensions must be checked into the hold.
