Each passenger is allowed one piece of carry-on baggage small enough to be placed in the overhead bin or under the passenger seat of the aircraft cabin with a maximum dimension (length+width+height) of 45 in. (115 cm) and maximum weight of 7 kgs. (15 lbs).
A carry-on bag that exceeds the allowed weight or dimension shall be intercepted and charged an EBC, if applicable.
In addition to the free carry-on baggage allowance, a passenger is allowed to carry on-board a maximum of two (2) of any the following items:
- a small handbag
- pocket book or purse
- an overcoat, wrap or blanket
- a small camera or binoculars
- laptop with case
- a reasonable amount of reading material
For persons with disabilities, the foregoing shall be in addition to the assistive devices that are allowed to be carried for free.
Important Notice
Each flight ticket has its own Free Baggage Allowance policy. This FBA entitlement is valid only on that specific flight and may not necessarily apply to your connecting flights. PAL or other carriers may require you to pay excess baggage fees if your FBA entitlement is lower on your connecting flights.
Infant’s Baggage

Guns and Ammunition
Personal guns, weapons and other ammunitions of war are generally not accepted for carriage. In instances where these will be allowed (properly packed with the necessary documents), they shall be placed in the Security Removed Items box/long fire arms and loaded in the cargo compartment as part of the passenger’s checked baggage.
It is the passenger’s responsibility to acquire the proper documents from both origin and destination stations.
Ammunition (cartridges for weapons), securely packaged, in quantities less than 5kg (11 lbs) gross weight per person’s own use, excluding ammunition with explosive or incendiary projectiles can be checked in but not carry on.
Musical Instruments
Guitars cannot fit in the overhead compartment of the aircraft or under the passenger seats. To ensure accommodation on flight, all guitars shall be accepted only as check-in baggage whether contained in a hard or soft case. It shall be included in the free baggage allowance of the passenger.
Other musical instruments that cannot fit in the overhead compartment should be checked-in.
Please ensure the item is in proper package to avoid breakage. PAL will not be held liable for any damage that may occur during transit. of inadequately packaged guitars and other musical instruments.

Pets
Varied rules and regulations on carriage of animals as baggage may apply for specific countries depending on restrictions imposed by local Government Authorities.
Pets such as dogs, cats and birds, if and when they are acceptable for carriage as baggage should:
- Be placed in a secure and leak-proof container
- Have valid vaccination certificates and exit and/or entry permits from the Philippine Bureau of Animal Industry, Animal Health Division (AHD), Diliman, Quezon City. Visit their website athttp://www.bai.da.gov.ph/ for more information.
- Be accompanied by passengers at least 12 years old
Note: Pets are not accepted in our Manila to London flight, until further notice
Guam/Honolulu/Las Vegas/Los Angeles/San Francisco/Vancouver/Japan flights (Piece system)
Pets are not included in the free baggage allowance, and thus shall be considered as automatic excess baggage even if the passenger does not have any other baggage.
Charges for the carriage of pets for piece system shall be as follows:
- Pet and container measuring 203cms (80in) or less and weighing not more than 23kgs (50lbs) shall be charged 200% of the applicable excess baggage rate.
- Pet and container measuring over 203cms (80in) and weighing more than 23kgs (50lbs) shall be charged 300% of the applicable excess baggage rate.
– For each additional 10kgs (20lbs), 100% of the applicable excess baggage charge shall apply.
– The total result shall be charged twice to come up with the total excess baggage charge.
Note: For pets traveling to Japan as check in or cargo, Animal Bureau Quarantine of Japan must be notified at least forty (40) days prior to the arrival of the pet.
Regional and Domestic flights (Weight system)
Pets are not included in the free baggage allowance, and thus shall be considered as automatic excess baggage even if the total baggage weight of passenger is still within the Free Baggage Allowance.
- Pet and container, weighing 01-04kgs, will be charged as 5kgs at 100% of the applicable excess baggage rate.
- Pet and container, weighing 05kgs and above, will be charged with their actual weight at 100% of the applicable excess baggage rate.
An inquiry with our reservations office must be made at least 48 hours before scheduled flight about acceptance of pets as baggage from specific airport of origin.
Plants:
Restrictions on the import of plants differs with every country. Please get in touch with the local agriculture/plant authority of your destination country to learn about the specific requirements for plant import along with the restrictions imposed by local Government Authorities.

Sports Equipment
Sports Equipment can be sold to passenger between the time of booking up to four (4) hours prior to the published Estimated Time of Departure through PAL Ticket Offices and Call Center. If a passenger has already checked-in prior to the 4 hours cut-off time he/she can no longer avail of the Sports Equipment.
