With Air Mauritius, you are entitled to one piece of hand baggage if you are flying in Economy Class, and two pieces of hand baggage if you are flying in Business Class. Each piece of hand baggage should not exceed 7kg and 115 cm (Length + Width + Height), so that it can fit underneath the seat in front of you or in the baggage compartment. For your comfort, you may also bring on board personal items such as a handbag, overcoat, wrap, blanket, umbrella, walking stick, laptop, camera, binoculars, infant carrying basket, and baby food to be consumed in-flight, as well as a reasonable quantity of duty-free purchases.
This information is valid for all flights operated by Air Mauritius.
On code-sharing flights, the operating airline´s transport rules may apply. For instance, on Mauritius/Europe flights operated by Air France, travelling in Economy class entitles you to one piece of hand baggage with dimensions 35x55x25cm as well as one accessory; all of which should have a total weight of 12kg maximum. In case of non-compliance, hand luggage will be collected at boarding gate and put in the hold.
We recommend to verify baggage allowances of the operating airline prior departure.
PLEASE NOTE
For safety reasons, some airports, including the airport of Mauritius, limit the weight of each bag to 32 kg.
Although we take every precaution in handling your baggage, make sure your bags are sturdy and easily identifiable.
Remember to attach to the outside of each of your checked bags a tag clearly indicating your name, your permanent address, the address of your destination, and your phone number.
Special conditions for India
Any passenger arriving from international flights and connecting to a domestic flight in India must strictly comply with the following rules:
Baggage must be cleared through customs at the first port of entry in India. This is mandatory even if the baggage have been through-tagged to the final destination in India. Passengers who fail to observe this rule may discover upon arriving to their final destination that their baggage is missing.
Liquids, aerosols, and gels (LAGs) purchased at duty-free stores are not allowed in the cabin on domestic flights in India.

Air Mauritius Non-European routes
If dimensions (length + width + height) of equipment are less than 200 cms and its weight is within 23 kgs, the equipment is considered as part of the passenger baggage and no charge applies.
In case the dimensions exceed 200 cms or the number of pieces exceeds baggage entitlement, then a charge of USD 200 (one-way) applies.
Exceptions:
From Mauritius to St. Denis, Pierrefonds, Rodrigues – Applicable charge of USD 55
From Rodrigues to Mauritius – Applicable charge of USD 55
From St. Denis, Pierrefonds to Mauritius – Applicable charge of EUR 55
If weight per piece exceeds the allowed 23 kg limit, excess charges for normal baggage ratesadditionally apply.
GOLF BAG:
You may carry one golf bag free of charge for travel on a point to point basis from/to all Air Mauritius online destinations and to beyond points via Paris Charles de Gaulle on Air Mauritius/ Air France (*) flights. The bag should contain only golf equipment and should not exceed the maximum weight of 20 kg per passenger. Golf bags must be checked in separately from checked baggage. Refer to table below for charges applicable for each additional Golf bag. Note that if weight of one golf bag exceeds 20 kg, excess charges for normal baggage additionally apply.
