When flying with Air Astana the hand baggage must not exceed a total weight of
8 kg in Economy Class and
18 kg in Business Class.
Passengers in Business Class may carry two pieces of hand baggage.
For safety reasons, hand baggage dimensions are limited and, on Air Astana flights, must not exceed 55 x 40 x 20 cm.
In addition to the above hand baggage allowance, the following articles for personal use may also be carried:
- One lady’s handbag or briefcase.
- Reading material in a reasonable amount for the flight.
- Baby food for consumption during the flight and a baby stroller.
- One umbrella or walking stick.
- One overcoat or wrap.
- A pair of crutches and/or fully collapsible wheelchair a provided that the passenger is dependent on them.
- A portable computer.
- A bunch of flowers.
Each passenger flying with Air Astana, except for infants, is entitled to the following free baggage allowance:
- Business Class – 30 kg.
- Economy Class – 20 kg.
Dimensions of one piece of checked baggage must not exceed 158 cm (total sum of the three dimensions), andthe weight of one piece of baggage must not exceed 32 kg. Infant carrying seats or fully collapsible strollers, and fully collapsible wheelchairs (provided that the passenger is dependent on them) are carried free of chargeand normally in the hold.
Excess Baggage
Checked baggage in excess of the free baggage allowance shown on the ticket will be charged at the appropriate excess baggage rate per kg depending on the itinerary. You can check the tariff for excess baggage on Air Astana’s website with the Excess Baggage Rates calculator.
Air Astana passengers who want to check any special baggage (live animals, certain sports equipment, technical devices, perishable items, wheelchairs, fragile items, etc.) must contact Air Astana Special Services in advance to get approval for carriage of these items. If you come to check-in without getting prior approval, you may not be allowed to check such baggage.
Bulky baggage (each piece of baggage with the sum of its threedimensions over 158 cm) and heavy baggage(each piece of baggage over 32 kg) can be carried only with the prior consent of Air Astana, and will be charged as a real weight and excluded from the free baggage allowance.
