TUIfly is a German leisure airline owned by the travel and tourism company TUI Group. It is headquartered at Hannover Airport with bases at several other German airports. With TUIfly, the maximum weight for free hand baggage is 6 kg (55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm); passengers are entitled to free carriage of 1 item of hand baggage per person plus notebook. Please stow any light items – such as coats or small bags – in the overhead compartments above your seat. Please note that heavy items have to be stowed under the seat in front of you.
For flights with TUIfly airlines that depart on or after 1 May 2014 and werebooked on or after 18 March 2014 the free baggage limit for checked baggage in the Perfect fare is 20 kg. For passengers travelling together, the total weight of all of the checked baggage may not exceed the free baggage limit of 20 kg per piece of baggage. The Pure fare does not include any free baggage. Additional pieces of baggage can be booked with various weight limitations. An increase in baggage weight from 15 kg to 20 kg costs just EUR 6 per route, for example.
For flights with TUIfly airlines that depart on or after 1 May 2014 and were booked in the period from 10 Sept. 2013 through 17 March 2014, the free baggage limit for checked baggage is 15 kg. For passengers travelling together, the total weight of all of the checked baggage may not exceed the free baggage limit of 15 kg per piece of baggage.
The maximum weight for each individual piece of baggage is 32 kg and the maximum dimensions of 80 x 65 x 45 cm cannot be exceeded.
Depending on booked fare, infants are entitled to free baggage and carry-on baggage.
For TUI Card Gold holders, the free baggage limit on flights with TUIfly airlines is 30 kg for one piece of luggage (for bookings made with a tour operator, different rules may apply).
Provided that musical instruments do not exceed the customary size and the customary weight for hand luggage, they can be carried in the cabin as hand luggage without any problems. Please note that even blunt objects such as golf clubs, baseball bats, tennis racquets etc. cannot be carried in the cabin.
